Frisco RoughRiders Find Perfection With Dude Perfect Promotion

The proof of a successful promotion can be found in the results, and that certainly was the case for the winner of Minor League Baseball’s July Promotion of the Month. The Frisco RoughRiders took home the honor, earning the Texas League franchise a spot in the Promo Seminar’s Golden Bobblehead competition, for its Dude Perfect Appearance on July 20.

The RoughRiders set a single-game attendance record for Dr Pepper Ballpark of 12,067 by welcoming the five Dudes who form the trick-shot making group that has become a viral sensation over the past few years. The Frisco-based group has earned more than 32 million subscribers and 5 billion views on YouTube as well as their own show on Nickelodeon, making their appearance one of the most anticipated in team history. In fact, the appearance was the earliest sellout in RoughRiders history, with all of the tickets being snapped up three days before the game.

Dude Perfect comes to the Frisco RoughRiders

The first 1,000 fans to enter Dr Pepper Ballpark were given access to a meet and greet with the stars of Dude Perfect, including autographed pictures. The Dudes threw out the first pitch and participated in a variety of unique mid-inning promotions with fans, including Late Night Snack Launch, basketball trick shots from the Choctaw Lazy River, Dude Perfect Relay Race, and Dude Perfect T-Shirt Toss. All of those activities will be featured in an upcoming episode of Dude Perfect’s show on Nickelodeon.

“The response to Friday’s Dude Perfect Night promotion is unlike anything the RoughRiders’ franchise and our ballpark community has ever experienced, and with the great success we’ve enjoyed over 16 seasons that’s saying something,” RoughRiders President and General Manager Andy Milovich said in a press release after the game.

Frisco beat out a talented group of Promo of the Month nominees that included the Daytona Tortuga’s “Big Lebowski” tribute, dubbed the Big Shellbowski; the Boise Hawks seat-belt awareness Saved by the Belt promotion; the Connecticut Defenders celebrating all things New England by changing their name to the Lobster Rolls; and the Erie SeaWolves celebrating one of the snowiest winters on record during the Halfway to Christmas promotion.

Only one more round of Promotions of the Month remains before the Promo Seminar kicks off in Des Moines, Iowa, on Sept. 24-27.
